Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone! The last four days were amazing. Bryan and I spent Christmas alone here at the apartment, and it was so relaxing. This past weekend we went to visit a friend out west of the cities. We made a big fire out at his house and just relaxed. On Monday we baked cookies, had a candlelight Christmas Eve dinner, and then went to a late church service. Then yesterday we made crepes for breakfast, opened our presents from each other, and then had an amazing roast that Bryan made for us! What a perfect first Christmas together. I'm looking forward to many more! Here are a few pictures from the past few days.

Out at our friends house enjoying the warmth of the fire. I'm wearing my Express jeans and boots that
I picked up at the Salvation Army.

Our few Christmas decorations that we put up.

Just a Few Pictures

No outfit post today. I've been really sick the last couple of days, so I thought I would post a few other pictures Bryan and I have been taking lately. We're having way too much fun with this new camera!

One of my favorite pictures I've taken. I took it out the car window while Bryan was driving!

Boots and Tights

Today Bryan and I went out for lunch with his grandparents and then spent the afternoon visiting with them at their house. I love hearing them talk about their life and stories from so long ago! I wanted to be really comfortable, so I kept things pretty low key with my outfit. Just a simple sweater dress and boots.

I also made a new friend this weekend. This cute owl was right outside our apartment when we looked out the window Saturday morning :)

New Traditions

Bryan and I are starting a new date night tradition. Every weekend we are going to choose a day where we have a "date night" and spend quality time together. It's been a little hectic lately, so we thought this would be a perfect way to make sure we always have one night a week that we can forget about the stresses of life and just focus on our relationship. Last night was our first date night and we went out to dinner and then ice skating! Definitely brought back memories from my childhood. We had so much fun downtown Minneapolis: people watching, eating amazing food at Mission American Kitchen and Bar, and laughing with each other while ice skating at The Depot.

I wanted to be comfortable with my clothing, but at the same time I wanted to look cute and festive. I went with one of my favorite red sweaters and a nice warm scarf. Here are some pictures from our night out.

New Boots

I had a few credits on justfab.com to use, so I ordered a new pair of heels and these boots. They are surprisingly very comfortable and I love the color. I've already been thinking of the numerous different jeans, leggings, and skirts they will go with! I just love winter clothes :)

Warm Socks

In the midst of the snow storm yesterday, Bryan and I decided to walk to the gas station down the road and get snacks for the Vikings game. It was so pretty outside, but since it was so cold and my snow boots leak I had to pull out my favorite tall socks. An exhausting 40 minutes later we were back home under a warm blanket watching the game :)

I hate driving in this weather, but it's just so gorgeous. All the trees are covered with snow making everything look bright white everywhere!

Snow!

There is finally snow on the ground! It is absolutely gorgeous outside of our apartment and the sun made everything seem to sparkle this morning. Bryan and I ran a few errands today including buying a coffee table at IKEA, dropping my car off at the auto repair shop, and then running into the Mall of America to try and find Bryan new dress shoes. Let me tell you, not a good idea to go to the mall today! There were a million people out doing Christmas shopping and going to get pictures with Santa. We ended up not staying too long...

Here I am on our balcony. I think this might become my new spot to take pictures because the outside light makes everything look better and colors stand out so much more. I do not normally wear black and brown together, but my black snow boots have a hole in the heel from all the salt I used to walk through in college. I guess my riding boots will have to do for now.

Two Months

Yesterday was our two month wedding anniversary! Can't believe it's already been that long. To celebrate we decided not to cook and instead go out for pizza at a restaurant a few blocks away from our apartment. It was so nice to get out and spend a little quality time with my husband instead of being at home eating canned soup or pasta while sitting on the couch watching TV.

We decided to go out last minute, so I quickly threw on some jeans and a sweater and we were out the door.

Monochromatic

I went for the full monochromatic look today for my volunteer orientation at the hospital. It's getting a bit chilly outside, but I went ahead and took advantage of the parking garage and wore my favorite heels.

One more thing, Bryan and I got a new camera as a joint Christmas present together... I've been taking pictures of everything in sight and I'm obsessed! I'm so glad he talked me into getting this, and now it is so much easier to take pictures of myself with the camera and tripod! I'm looking forward to much better quality pictures on the blog :)

Saturday Errands

Bryan and I went on the search for new black dress shoes today, but we didn't have much luck. But I found a really cute new dress! Stay tuned for pictures :) I love this outfit I wore today. It's so comfortable and I can wear this sweater with so many different things. I also must say, I really think every girl should own a pair of skinny jeans. I don't know what I would do without mine in the winter time.
